3 stars for the cafe, one additional star for the setting on the river. Ice cream was ok. Cookie was ok.
This is the perfect little shop for a sweet treat or a hot cup of coffee! All of the baked goods and breakfast foods are delicious. The location on the river and the design of the shop create a great atmosphere for every season of the year. I would highly recommend! I hope to continue my frequent stops at the Sweet Spot whenever I'm in the area!
Delicious food particularly the very well concieved main dish salad. Frittata also excellent and terrific buy at $5. Sweet service, your choice of eating indoors with nice art and enticing cooking smells, or outside at picnic tables overlooking the river. I wish I could transport this place to my hometown, except l couldn't afford it because food this good costs twice this much in Seattle, and yet more any place with a view.
Sweet Spot, has decent Awake Coffee. It has always been pleasing in that respect. The pastries are reasonably good, and the prices are on par with all of the overpriced things for that part of Vermont. The setting is adequate, with a view of the river, which is nice. I would have given Sweet Spot a higher rating, but there's one glitch in the cafe: the owner! I have been there three different times, and it is rather clear that she has a mood and or personality defect. It's compounded by a standoffish and superiority disposition. However I have observed her with particular people that she must be connected with in the community, and she then shows the side of a person or owner that you would want to experience at a cafe. I mean really, how much does it cost to exhume kindness and common etiquette? I will tell you, it's free! So if you're looking to start off your day with an emotionally positive place, I would not go to The Sweet Spot or better said the Sour Spot.
