We arrived and there was a few small groups waiting to be seated. For 2 we were quoted a 30 minute wait and it took maybe 5 minutes longer than that. We were sat at an awkward place (2 seater right next to the kitchen and facing the fire, the seats do not face each other). Our waitress took about 5 minutes to come by.
We visited here in March 2017. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the imperfect reservation system. We followed the rules, but a couple who did not, essentially took our spot and we had to wait an additional 45 minutes for our table on top pf the 20 we already waited. After we are finally seated things vastly improve. Our server is fantastic, great service, and the pizza (Vermont Sausage) is out of this world! Maybe the best pizza we've ever had.
The drink list had a number of options but only a handful of each were available by the glass.
The art gallery next door is cute. There was also a fire outside that was nice.
It's worth going for the pizza, but the customer would have a more overall enjoyable experience if they would either stick to the established procedures or just simply take reservations over the phone. Also, you have about 30 people crammed into a tiny bar area. We noticed on our way out, there is an area between the bar and the restaurant tables that had a huge table that was never used. Is this part of the bar or the restaurant?
They do allow you to split the pizza with whatever versions you want, each is charged as half of the price of that pizza’s full cost. The pizza itself was really good and had a very nice crust. We got a special pizza split with the cheese and herb.
GF pizza is great and that's hard to find. Not worth it when it feels like you're an inconvenience to the staff every time you eat here. One staff literally laughed at me when I asked for a take out order and said, "Are you kidding? No way." No thanks! Next time, I'll go to a place that is happy to have my business.
Amazing wood-fired pizza. Great VT country atmosphere with the big beautiful oven. Almost too good because it is too popular. The waits can be long for big groups. They don't take reservations; somebody had to go ahead to hold a spot. But it is all worth it. Also they have a fire pit outside so the kids can hang out there.
They have Lawson's Finest Sip of Sunshine on tap, though at 11.00 for a pint it's about 2.00 more expensive than elsewhere in town.
This was the perfect place after a long day of hiking! Super cozy, amazing service, fresh and delicious salads, and yummy pizza options. They have set seating times, so be prepared (they are super popular, and with good reason). Don't miss it!
